Happy New Year from BCD and all of us here at Visual Analytics, Inc.
2003 promises to be a busy year for many of us, as we work to address the tough issues we all face around the world.
At Visual Analytics we are dedicated to providing you with superior solutions for these trying times.
To do so, we focus on providing you with Superior Pattern Discovery Solutions. The world needs reliable and
powerful systems that can quickly uncover critical targets, hidden patterns, and questionable networks and
associations. At VAI, we deliver such solutions.
We are particularly proud to announce that the VisuaLinks 2.0 release will be available in the first quarter of 2003.
We are in our final testing phase on the software and are pleased that our flagship pattern discovery tool has come
together as we had planned. We have incorporated customer feedback, optimized performance and improved usability.
We are confident that you will be as pleased as we are with the results.
In 2003, we plan to take VisuaLinks even further. To support our clients in the law enforcement and intelligence
communities, we are expanding our money laundering and financial crimes capabilities. We also plan to implement
Social Network Analysis, to introduce new fraud detection features and to add new positioning algorithms that
will make pattern discovery even easier. We will also continue to improve the user interface, creating an
adaptive user interface specific to different levels of user ability.
While we continue to extend VisuaLinks, our existing and unique capabilities are attracting buyers in new markets,
new industries and new geographies. Commercial buyers in insurance, health care, manufacturing, and other businesses
concerned with embezzlement and similar white-collar crimes are becoming increasingly aware of our leadership in
fraud-detection. In 2002 we started to penetrate these industries. In 2003 we plan to further extend our customer
base in these important markets.
In the current intelligence and law enforcement climates, we all feel the imperative to process growing quantities
of data faster than ever. Weighing heavily on us all is the need to generate intelligence that anticipates crises
and uncovers problems and threats early enough to prevent them. To communicate our dedication to this need,
our marketing message emphasizes Superior Pattern Discovery Solutions ...with the Power to Predict and Prevent.
Under this banner, Visual Analytics will continue to broaden VisuaLinks' capabilities, to help you to predict,
and prevent, future adversity.
Thank you all for your continued support. Please tell us how we can better serve you.
Call us directly, or just drop us a note at newsletter@visualanalytics.com - we welcome and read all feedback.
Happy New Year and all the best in 2003.

VAI wishes all our customers a very Happy New Year. We hope 2003 brings much prosperity and happiness to all of you.
The New Year is a time of both reflection and excitement. 2002 was a banner year for us, full of successes and firsts.
Yet the year was not without challenges and opportunities for learning and growth. As we stand at the beginning of 2003,
we look back at our successes and our challenges. At the same time, we look forward, anticipating a fantastic year for
both VAI and for you, our customers.
We are on schedule for our first-quarter release of VisuaLinks 2.0. This version represents a substantial leap
forward for the VisuaLinks product - incorporating many new features, performance improvements, user interface
enhancements, quality and stability improvements and all-new documentation.
This issue focuses on some of the new features available in VisuaLinks 2.0.
