Here are a few tips and tricks to help you use DIG quickly and more efficiently.
|
 |
You can adjust your Search History list. Use the Tools / Programs / Other
Options menu command to change the number of items stored in your history list.
|
 |
You can export your search results to a number of formats, including an Excel Pivot table
(you must have Excel installed on your machine). First, select the data you want to export
(select individual records or click the Select column and choose the Select All command).
Next, use the Export menu to choose the Excel Pivot Table command. This opens Excel with a DIG Data tab.
Simply drag the columns you want to compare onto the table. You can then use the graph button to plot the data on a chart.

What's New?
The Patriot Act sections 312 (Special Due Diligence for Correspondent Accounts
and Private Banking Accounts) and 314 (Cooperative Efforts to Deter Money Laundering)
require that financial institutions, brokerage houses, or other banking organizations
provide methods by which to monitor the transactions and money flows within their
business for terrorists financing. A major part of supporting this capability is the
ability to proactively search the list of Specially Designated Nationals (SDNs) and
blocked persons provided by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) at the
US Department of Treasury website.
Although currently only in a text format, VAI will convert and actively maintain
this information as a relational database once the Data Clarity Environment is
brought online later this year.
You can use the steps below to configure DIG to search the OFAC SDN file.
Create a text data source for the list
1. Open the DIG Administrator.
2. Choose the Add a new data source option and click Next.
- Name the data source (for example, OFAC Foreign Nationals List)
- Choose the Text type option.
3. Use the Catalogs button to identify the source:
- Use the “…” button to select a location to store the index.
- Use the Add Web button to enter the following URL:
http://www.treas.gov/offices/
enforcement/ofac/sdn/sdnlist.txt
- Click the Create Index button to generate the index.
Depending on your connection speed, this may take a few moments.
- Use the Schedule button to choose an update interval.
4. Click the Finish button.
Modify group assignments to enable access to the list
- With the DIG Administrator open, choose the Modify group assignments option and click Next.
- Use the Query Groups button to update the display.
- Select the Docs child of the newly created data source.
- Give users access to the list:
- In the left side of the table, select the user groups you want to have access to the list
- Click the Add button
- Click the Close button.
