March 24-26, 2003
Visual Analytics, through special invitation from the Anti-Money Laundering Office of Thailand, will be presenting at the Pacific Rim International Conference on Money Laundering and Financial Crimes, which will take place in Bangkok on March 24-26, 2003. Visual Analytics' CEO, Chris Westphal, will participate as a keynote speaker on the subject of "Technologies for Money Laundering Analysis: New Approaches for Combating Financial Crimes."

VAI will be hosting a booth at the AFCEA Spring Intelligence Symposium 2003 to be held at the Defense Intelligence Analysis Center (DIAC) at Bolling Air Force Base, Washington, D.C. We encourage you to stop by to meet our staff.

VAI will be attending the 2003 ONDCP Supply Reduction Technology Symposium in San Diego, CA. This event will run from July 8 through 11, 2003 at the Town and Country Resort and Convention Center in San Diego.

What's New?
VisuaLinks 2.0 To Ship Soon
VisuaLinks 2.0 is scheduled to ship at the end of March 2003. The entire VAI staff, with the help of some of our customers, has worked hard to create a version of VisuaLinks that provides unparalleled capabilities. You will see a number of new features, improved performance and better memory management. We are very proud of, and look forward to, this significant release.
VAI Technology Seminar: Well Received and Well Attended
On March 6, 2003, VAI hosted the first of many regularly-scheduled seminars that spotlight VAI technologies. Our first seminar introduced the power of our Digital Information Gateway (DIG) product to a number of our VisuaLinks clients. This seminar drew 36 attendees, representing eight organizations. The seminar focused on presentations, given by current DIG clients, highlighting the positive affects of their DIG implementations. The presentations also outlined how these organizations expect to expand on their DIG implementations in the future.

Employment Opportunities
Field Support Engineer - two (2) positions available
These on-site technical support engineers will support one or more DOD customers, including analytical and modeling support. Technical support responsibilities will require on-site support of VisuaLinks in the following areas: troubleshooting, model building, installation and configuration, performance analysis and tuning, training and to lend assistance to the database administration staff on matters concerning VisuaLinks.
Requirements: A BA/BS in Computer Science or 5 years of equivalent technical experience with large relational databases (Oracle, MS SQL Server, Sybase, Informix, etc.). Oracle experience is a plus. Scripting and network experience, especially troubleshooting, required. Data mining or visualization experience is helpful. Training experience is highly desirable. Current TS/SCI security clearance required.
Visual Basic .NET Software Engineer
This software engineer will be responsible for development and maintenance of a Visual Basic application. Knowledge of VB, .NET, MSMQ, OLEDB, Web Services, XML and relational databases (MS SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase, etc.) are essential for this project. The successful candidates will participate in design reviews and in the preparation of detailed design specifications. They will be expected to develop applications using the tools determined for the project, coordinate with testers, QA and configuration management in deployment of the software. They will also complete project and application documentation including specifications, design documents, programmer's maintenance manuals, etc. The successful candidates will also demonstrate: the ability to work on multiple projects and tasks simultaneously; excellent oral and written communication; strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to adapt quickly and effectively to a changing environment.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree or higher (or equivalent development experience), with a minimum of 5 years of IT experience in full life cycle development of commercial/business software applications using Visual Basic, MSMQ and OLEDB/ODBC. At least 3 years' experience is expected in application development using Object Oriented design/programming, VB, C++, XML, UML, RDBMS, Web Services etc. Microsoft .NET and Oracle 9i experience are highly desirable.
Director of Business Development
The Director of Business Development will be responsible for sales and partnerships focusing primarily on Visual Analytics' intelligence sector business. The candidate will be expected to exceed their sales quota by selling VAI's solutions to new and existing customers, both within the Intelligence Community and outside it. The selected candidate will have a proven track record and 7-10 years of business to business solution selling of software products to a wide base of customers within the DOD and intelligence communities. Knowledge of link analysis, data mining and visualization desired.
Requirements: A BA/BS in Computer Science or Marketing, or a comparable four-year degree, is required. MBA preferred. 7-10 years or equivalent sales and/or business development experience within the intelligence community with an active list of contacts, the ability to build, train and manage a sales team, strategic planning experience. Current TS/SCI security clearance required.
