VisuaLinks Version 2.0 was officially released on April 15. Of special interest to our existing VisuaLinks clients -
there is no charge for upgrading to this new version! Anyone interested in receiving training on the new features can
contact our support team to make the necessary arrangements.
Additionally, we recently posted a beta version of DIG 1.3 that includes a number of new features. We are planning quite
a few enhancement to DIG over the next several months, based on feedback received from several DIG clients. DIG is
also expanding globally with several international installs planned in the very near future. For those who have not
yet seen or used DIG, we invite you to download the DIG Client evaluation software and review its features using our Server.
The past month has been extremely busy with quite a number of events and activities. Late in March, VAI participated
in the Pacific Rim International Conference on Money Laundering and Financial Crimes (www.fincrime2003.org) held in
Bangkok, Thailand. We also had the opportunity to deliver one of the keynote speeches for this conference.
There was a lot of interest in the use of our technologies for proactive targeting. You can read more about
this event in VAI News section of this newsletter.
In early April, VAI received one of the three Maryland International Business Leadership Awards. The award,
presented by the World Trade Center Institute (www.wtci.org), recognizes the entrepreneurial spirit and
determination required to operate in a global marketplace. The other two awards were presented to JHPIEGO
and T. Rowe Price Global Investment Services Limited. In attendance at this ceremony were Maryland Governor
Rob Ehrlich and former Governor William Donald Schaefer. Coverage of this event is provided in the News section
of the VAI website.
VAI also presented "VisuaLinks and DIG in a Training Track" for the Homeland Security Preparedness Session
of the Keeping Our Communities Safe for Law Enforcement, Government, Community Leaders and Officials conference.
This well-attended event was created by the Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee (LECC) out of the United States
Attorney General's Office located in Northern Indiana
(www.usdoj.gov/usao/ inn/LECC/LECC.htm).
The goal of this program is to combine existing law enforcement programs with the new anti-terrorism efforts
to reduce violence and identify possible points of vulnerability. VAI's technologies were well received by the
community because they offer a wide breadth of choices for supporting law enforcement efforts.
You may have also noticed some changes to the look-&-feel of the VAI website. We are constantly adding more
services, features, and better support capabilities to provide our clients with top-quality support.
For instance, we recently set up a WebEx server (see support.visualanalytics.com/ LiveDemo/index.cfm for more information)
to offer online meeting and web conferencing services that will be used to remotely demonstrate system features,
train clients, troubleshoot problems, and check system configurations. If you're on a network, you're in our network.

Demand for DIG has grown, and with it, the demand for new features has grown, too. VAI has hired additional development staff to meet the growing demand for features in DIG. A major focus of the DIG team is to implement the Microsoft .Net framework into DIG. We are also working on a DIG-to-VisuaLinks interface.
We plan on implementing a number of new features and improvements to DIG in the coming months. Keep your eye on this spot for more information as it develops.
