BCD Speaks (continued from cover)
There are always exceptions to the rule - but in general, we have seen this practice of providing high-end
support for advanced technologies by large system integrators fail time-and-time again. It means that the
product will not perform as it was designed to and it will run into more problems during the product life cycle.
Ultimately, you (the customer) will be frustrated, and in the end, look back and realize you have spent more
money for poorer service.
Visual Analytics works with many systems integrators and fully understands the need for a second-tier
support structure. However, when you must have the best possible service, you must contact the most
qualified vendor to obtain world-class, first-tier support. We are the foremost experts with the applications
and capabilities of our tools. We are also experts in integrating our tools into any environment with any data domain.
And, most importantly, we have the experience required to use this class of technology - which is often lacking in the
large integrators.
Through years of working with many large systems integrators, we have seen some interesting support calls.
Usually, installing and integrating VAI's tools into existing environments goes off without a hitch.
Occasionally, however, there can be problems that take time to resolve. Sometimes, these situations incorrectly imply that
VAI's tools are the cause for the issue at hand. In fact, such issues usually stem from a lack of understanding of
how best to integrate and support our powerful products in complex environments. Obviously, this is a lose-lose
situation for all parties and one to be assiduously avoided.
We understand this and strive to make integration as easy as possible so that the integrators fully
understand our product requirements and capabilities in order to avoid or quickly resolve these issues.
We support these efforts through training, joint customer interaction and well-defined support and services
contracts with our customers and integrators.
Over time, as integrators gain the necessary experience with our systems, some of the perceived problems
will disappear. Remember, the categories of problems our technologies
address are not geared toward a "push a button - get an answer" approach. Rather, they require the direct
involvement of the end-users and analysts to apply the technology to create answers through sequences,
parameters, and interpretation.
Visual Analytics will always remain customer-focused and strive to provide the best support possible.
We are constantly defining new ways and approaches to solve the difficult and complex problems encountered
by our user community. As we continue to expand our technologies we certainly expect to carry on building
stronger relationships with well qualified integrators. At the end of the day, we want to make sure our
user-community has the best customer support possible -- which is not always guaranteed by the "superstore"
integrators. As a veteran-owned, small business, Visual Analytics can meet your needs.
