The year is already off to a strong start. Information sharing and collaborative analytics will dominate
our industry this coming year. Along this avenue, VAI has already coupled several more law enforcement
sites using DIG. Additionally, VAI has a number of other agencies ready to share data using VisuaLinks.
Throughout 2004, VAI expects to define new ways of sharing data and discovering patterns.
To further support information sharing, VAI is providing our clients with more exposure to our
Data Clarity Suite (DCS). The DCS combines the power of VisuaLinksĀ® and Digital Information Gateway (DIGTM)
into an unmatched analytical environment. This environment allows users to search database servers,
documents, web pages, and e-mail servers for virtually any type of data element.
Using DCS, our clients can perform data mining, ad hoc reporting, and data sharing across many
disparate organizations, disparate locations and disparate databases. The DCS environment
provides techniques to discover patterns across servers on both structured and unstructured
data using our seamlessly interconnected Data Clarity Network.
This network forms a virtual data warehouse without the costs or worries of data ownership -
data stays at the owner's location(s) and under the control of the owner. All validated
Data Clarity sites and users can seamlessly search and data-mine all the information within
the Data Clarity Network of servers, consistent with local security requirements. This allows
users to perform any operation for local or remote data across all data formats. Data Clarity
is a very affordable and robust environment for interconnecting data and discovering patterns.
VAI continues to invest heavily in new and novel approaches to information sharing and
proactive analytics. At our upcoming Data Clarity Conference '04, the DCS will be discussed
in detail and many examples presented on how to best utilize our technologies. Real-world
discussions and demonstrations will be given
to show the DCS in action. Please see the VAI News section to learn more about this
wonderful opportunity. We hope to see you there.

The following is a quotation from a VisuaLinks user in the field:
VisuaLinks has been an invaluable tool for identifying and fleshing out the extent of an identity theft investigation. All of the case information maintained in Access was analyzed using VL which immediately showed relationships between the main target of the investigation and the victim's identifiers in addition to identifying two other potential targets. The main target may have avoided detection for over 10 years. VL has been used in financial investigations with great success and is now being applied to other data sets in order to increase the effectiveness of the investigation.
