A Single Solution
Every organization, bureau, agency, and corporation has fundamental analytical needs that traditionally require a significant
amount of integration, customization, and maintenance. Whether trying to identify money laundering, insider trading, insurance fraud,
terrorist behavior, or other forms of criminal activity, the analytical processes and system architectures are very similar to each other.
In fact, many times, the types of patterns exposed in one domain can be used in another, and it is often not necessary to reinvest
and recreate these capabilities across different industries when a common approach, such as our Data Clarity Suite, can be used.
Visual Analytics Inc. (VAI) is working diligently on providing the necessary foundation for offering a cost-effective and
reliable framework for these types of solutions. Consider purchasing a car and having to research and separately select the engine,
transmission, frame, and accessories from different manufacturers. Now, imagine trying to get them all integrated and working
together to get a functioning vehicle to drive. If this were the case, we would still be riding horses; unfortunately,
this is exactly what the analytical community is facing with many existing technologies.
The information architectures for analytical environments tend to be very piecemeal and generally emulate the logic flow
for a traditional data warehouse structure consisting of data layers, transformation layers, application layers,
and presentation layers. The overall performance, throughput, and type of results generated are based on how well
each of these layers operate and function collectively to achieve the desired output. Perhaps even more important
is how quickly these layers can be adapted or customized to meet the individual analytical requirements.
