Overcoming the Odds
Change is good. Change is necessary. Change is for the best. Every day our world changes in some way, shape, or form. Whether we try a new restaurant for dinner, visit a new client site for work, or watch a new television show - there is constant change going on around us. Many times the change is introduced to try and improve an existing situation such as adding more lanes to a highway, creating faster CPU processors, or enhancing the resolution of an X-ray. Change is the only way we can improve ourselves and our environment.
At Visual Analytics, we embrace and encourage change to find the best solutions possible for the complex problem areas we support. Our software is constantly being updated to reflect the best practices in the industries we serve. We receive a considerable amount of feedback from our user community, and try to incorporate as much of this as possible, while maintaining scalable, expandable, and adaptable systems.
This month, we are releasing our VisuaLinks 4.1 and DIG 4.0 versions and introducing the DIG Symphony 1.0 while providing a sneak-peak at VisuaLinks Web Access. There have been a lot of changes made to the entire suite of products to provide our user community with a more comprehensive information sharing and analytical experience. In fact, even our web site is changing to introduce a more professional look and feel with better organization and structuring of the vast amounts of information we offer.
- Changes with VisuaLinks 4.1 include better performance, more scalability, and a host of new functions and features. The biggest change is our switchover to the new back-end (OBJ to JDO). This has improved stability, increased performance, and enabled larger scalability (databases, users, responses). This version also includes the highly anticipated UNDO feature so redraws, deletions, or changes made to the display can easily be undone (or redone).
- The changes for DIG 4.0 are significant, and the new web interfaces have made deployment a breeze. This version is a complete overhaul and offers a simpler interface, faster search, and vastly improved administrative controls. DIG 4.0 offers one of the best methods for federated searches across an enterprise or among disparate agencies. Additionally, the newest dashboard components and related business graphs make understanding the data more simple and effective.
