What's New?
At VAI, we strive to not only improve our products, but our minds as well. That is why we take every opportunity we can to
attend and present at various industry-related conferences and meetings held all over the world. We feel that by educating
ourselves about the ever-changing industry and latest technologies, we can effectively improve our solutions and deliver a
better product to our customers.
Additionally, we think it's important to teach others about the latest trends in pattern detection and information sharing
for link analysis and search retrieval. Last month, VAI sponsored a lunch and exhibited its capabilities to help address
regulatory, compliance, and detection of financial crimes and money laundering activities at the 11th Annual International
Money Laundering Conference and Exhibition in Hollywood, Florida. Next month, we are conducting two demonstrations of
VisuaLinks 4.1 and (DIG) Digital Information Gateway 3.0. Visit the Upcoming Events section to read about the exciting events we have coming up for the next month and beyond.
VAI’s CEO, Chris Westphal, presented at the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP)
Sub-Saharan Executive Policing Conference in Durban, South Africa. His presentation “Intelligence Driven Crime Analysis"
was delivered to a well-attended audience and he discussed novel ways of identifying, integrating, analyzing, and reporting on
criminal data sources. VAI exhibited with South African partner and distributor, Risk Diversion,
the latest versions of VisuaLinks and DIG.

continued from the cover
- Symphony 1.0 is the latest addition to the Data Clarity Suite of products. It provides high-end data cleaning, transformation, and value-added processes. Symphony is to DIG what the Disambiguator is to VisuaLinks, except it can also be run as a stand-alone system. In fact, Symphony forms the basis for our scoring capabilities to help rank order and identify questionable activities in the underlying databases. Soon, analysts will be able to log into their own dashboards and receive a list of top-priority targets contained within the system.
- VisuaLinks Web Access provides the analytical community with an impressive and efficient way to deliver visualization and link analysis to a massive number of end users via web technologies. The interface consists of the most commonly used features to navigate and present the data that is delivered by our powerful back-end engines. This web version of VisuaLinks can be configured, trained, and deployed very quickly. Using VisuaLinks Web Access, even the most novice users will be highly productive in a short period of time.
At VAI, we know that not everyone likes change, and these situations can be difficult to overcome. Learning new systems takes time and effort and sometimes people are set in their ways. However, our adversaries, the terrorists, fraudsters, and bad guys, are constantly reinventing themselves to find new ways to attack our democracy, look for new loopholes to exploit, and take advantage of the weaknesses we have in our systems. To sit back and not adapt or change to address these types of circumstances is not even an option for us. This is one of the fundamental reasons why VAI is always changing.
We are here to help you adapt to these changes and maximize your results.
