The Weakest Link
VAI prides itself on creating some of the most powerful information sharing and data analysis tools in the world.
In fact, we have pioneered a significant number of new analytical techniques, approaches, and methods for addressing
an expanding marketplace. Our systems have helped catch terrorists, expose money launderers, identify criminals,
reveal tax evaders, and help detect fraudulent schemes. VAI is dedicated to providing continual improvement of our
software solutions and top quality customer care.
Our technologies play an important role in the overall architecture of our user's environment. VAI's tools represent
a key component for accessing, integrating, analyzing, sharing, and reporting data. When VisuaLinks or DIG are used
in production environments, their performance, throughput, and results are largely based on how well the existing
infrastructure has been designed to meet the current analytical demands. As such, we are dependent on the hardware,
networks, databases, and users we support. Any missing database indexes, improperly defined drivers, permission restrictions,
or inconsistencies in the underlying data can affect the overall system. If any single component is not up to operational par,
the whole environment suffers - just like in a chain; the weakest link can compromise the entire system.
Essentially, our tools are defined as "application servers," which manage a significant amount of the analytical requirements
from accessing, integrating, and presenting the contents of multiple sources of data. According to Wikipedia, "…an application
server should handle most, if not all, of the business logic and data access of the application. The main benefits of
application server technology are ease of application development and centralization."
The power of our software solutions is somewhat understated because they offer so much functionality that is "taken for
granted" as compared to similar products in the commercial market. For example, we are able to directly and securely access
multiple databases without having to transpose the data into proprietary formats or transform them into downloadable files.
We also provide a truly proactive capability to help discover and expose new patterns and trends across hundreds of millions
of records.

"The fraudster who yesterday admitted to $3.2 million of benefit fraud would have been caught in a heartbeat using [VisuaLinks], as there is always a common thread somewhere linking entities, be it phone numbers, addresses, bank accounts, even car registrations."
--Anti-money laundering and fraud detection advocate
